Like StacyF, I was going to wait until my ring is finished and in my grubby little hands to post about it, but I'm way too anxious and excited.

I absolutely adore the rings I've seen posted here that are based upon the Daniel K. "Union Square" ring and said to myself that I need one also. So, I emailed Steve and picked him to be my guinea pig.

I love pink sapphires and since I had recently bought an Asscher cut one from BTD, I decided that this setting would be great for it. It was a toss up between Palladium and 18kt WG, but I chose WG. The ring is in the very beginning stages of being made... Steve just sent me the CAD renders a few hours ago... and I can't stop drooling. I LOVE IT and can't wait until I have the "live" version!

Steve is a pretty cool guy to work with. He answers emails in a timely manner, doesn't spam my inbox, doesn't call me in the middle of the night "just to talk"... lol All kidding aside, Steve is a hoot to talk to and a pleasure to work with. This will be my first custom piece and I feel confident that he won't do me wrong. I'll endevor to stay on top of my game and keep you fiends updated when there's something new to share. Until then, I will console myself by continuing to gaze upon the beauty of the modified Li-Ana that I recently bought from MugzieP (no pics yet, because my photography skills are nil). OK, no more talking, here are the renders...

What a pretty ring I'm sure the finished product will be stunning! Are the side stones going to be diamonds or czs?

Hi Anozira,
The side stones will be diamonds. According to Steve there will be 40 1pt diamonds for a total weight of about .40ct and 14 1/2pt diamonds for another .07ct total weight.

OH that is going to be a gorgeous ring. I can so see that style with a cushion center also - the double prongs and split shank - TDF!

GASP!! That is going to be a stunner. May I ask how the prongs are going to be styled (round tips, claws etc)

Spy,
They will be split at the tips so that they look like double prongs, but they won't be double prongs. Does that make sense?
