I have only seen the asscher cut in an interlap/winfield but I have seen the EC in interlap and Asha. I personally didn't care for either cut in the interlap, the Diamond coating that the Asha stones have REALLY REALLY helps, to my eye anyway, of making the step cuts realistic.
I have an EC Asha and I LOVE it! So much so, that I am planning on a 3 stone ring with trap sides and rb pave!
However I do feel that an Asscher Asha is ALSO in my future somewhere down the road. Most likely a solitaire, prob the Tiff Cathedral.
Please know that you can order the EC Asha in the Tiffany Cathedral from BTD...it is LOVELY (I have it for my Pear ring) and will allow bands to sit flush, if that is your goal....otherwise you will have a gap with the other EC setting. Which personally I like!
I suggest going and trying on an EC cut in a jewelry store, you most likely won't be able to see or try on a mounted Asscher cut but try on a princess cut just to see if you like the look of a square stone on your hand. Hope this helps!

I've never seen a BTD emerald or asscher, but I do have 2 EC interlaps and they look perfect. I can't tell them apart from the real thing. I don't like the asscher cut at all. But it is all about personal taste. We all have our favorites. EC's do tend to be set in basket settings which are hard to get a band to sit flush with. I'm sure there are settings out there though that do, shouldn't be too hard to find. I think BTD can put different heads in some of their settings which might allow for a flusher fit.

You're absolutely right Wench. At the JCK I caught a lot of jewelers looking at my ring. When they were obvious about it I asked them if they wanted to see my ring. Of vourse they all said yes and whipped out their loupe. I could tell a lot of them were in awe. A few had said they said they hadn't seen a "diamond" that perfect in ages some of them had never seen one like it.
Can you believe it? At the jewelry show! LOL! Absolutely! I wish I had known you were there, we could have had a lunch together. Wink
We should have. I think Mike and I found out that you were here after the show had already started. We already had appointments lined up, but I did think about calling you. We'll do it next year for sure
