Ideas for my wedding party, ur opinion pls?!?!?!

OOOOOK,
so, we are thinking to marry earlier in the day, probably morning(court house) and than his mom offered (VERY nice of her AND unexpected ) to pay for a big party ( about 100 ppl, which about 70 is family, lol) on their huge backyard.
I know I know...September backyard party in Chicago Area??????? Oh, what the heeck.... 
I am thinking: a big tent in case the weather doesn't help...lots of chairs/tables, a bonfire for when night comes, tons of tiki torches, pretty flowers or colorful candles as centerpiece, maybe some of those colorful Japanese style lamps hanging from thise HUGE tree they have all the way in the backyard, catered food from my friend's Mexican restaurant, and looots of drinks, water, pop, tequila, vodka, lol (maybe just kegs of beer??)
WHAT you guys REALLY think??????

That sounds awesome! I think a cocktail bar would be nice - you can start scouring for liquor sales and have some signature drinks...might be worth hiring a few people for mixing/serving - that way friends can all just relax and enjoy themselves.
I'll tell you what we're thinking of (shhhh) - have a big party...and then suddenly, a musician shows up, and there's a judge there, you've changed into a different dress and a wedding piece is being played and surprise!! It's a surprise wedding.
Whatever you choose, it's going to be fabulous!

NOW #1: It's v-e-r-y Important to keep your cool to make it successful and happy ending.
100 is duable  10 tables [seating for 10@] are simple/easier to decorate + 1 for bride/groom/parents [having many tables means more decorations and people won't mingle w/each other as much {cheaper to feed & clean}
Lucky girl, have your friend cater Mexican food, margaritas are def due! Having 1-2 people making drinks is key, simple if you stick to 1-2 choices...say margarita/cosmos. I personaly don't like kegs, I'd rather have 3-4 large containers filled w/ice and beer bottles, same for water-- easier to discard. While shopping for containers I'd buy 3-4 extra large containers/lined for garbage, people find those quickly, less work next morning. I'm a*al about color coordination= more work  maybe MIL could help picking things w/you, LOVE the lantern idea....bed bath & beyond sells pkg of 6 for 9.99 battery operated {basic colors} great if Mexican theme is desired. Now if you want to go fancier paperlanternstore.com have beautiful ones in many sizes but $4-5 @ I'd place them randomly around the yard at different height

ooh, i think a tent is a great idea! my best friend's wedding was in june in montreal, but it was all under a big white tent.
the only thing i'd have done was hung tulle swags from the ceiling and had white lights in the swags, kinda like this:
