As promised, Mum's Trifle

1 Container frozen whipped topping, thawed [fat free]
1 8oz container sour cream [low fat, fat free doesn't work]
3-4 Tablespoons whipped cream cheese [to mask 'fake' custard]
1 pkg 3.4oz instant vanilla pudding

4-5 kiwis, peeled and sliced
2 pints fresh strawberries, sliced
1 [15oz] can crushed pineapple [reserve the juice]
1 pint fresh or frozen blueberries
* optional sliced/roasted almonds for decoration [rim]

1 [9"] Angel food cake [DH hates angel, I used yellow cake mix]

*Bake the yellow cake mix in a round mold that fits your Trifle dish, cool and cut the cake [or angel food] into thirds, horizontally [the small trifle posted only takes 2 slices of cake].
* In a large bowl whisk sour cream with unprepared pudding mix, cream cheese with few drops of milk to make it easier, add whipped topping, fold and set aside.

Line your trifle glass with strawberries, place a few tablespoons
of your prepared cream on top 'just' to anchor your first cake layer, sprinkle the cake with some of the reserved pineaple juice, top with blueberries, then Half of the rest of the cream, place kiwi slices against the wall of the dish for decoration [cream will make them stay there] then, fill the inside of that kiwi/round with pineapple [I usually use half of the can].
Top with second layer of cake, sprinkle some of the pineapple juice, top with the rest of the cream, chill overnight, wrapped in seran to meld flavors [it may sink a little too].
Decorate the inside rim of the Trifle with sliced almonds then strawberry slices, serve cold, serves 12, Enjoy!
