Hi ladies,

I know I have been asking for so many opinions and help latelly, but, lemme tell ya', I am finding myself a bit 'lost' lately...too many decisions to make and no one to help me out.
My mom or sister, or even a true friend would come handy at this time! \:\(
But, since that is NOT my case, I feel I can trust most of you guys experienced opinion...

My dillema right now is, once again, in regards to wedding stuff...
So, we announced the engagement and that we picked a date (not a 'save the date', just let ppl know the date, since soooo many were asking ;\) )

Now, we are planning on having that simple, but pretty, outdoor celebration for close "friends only", about 50ppl... (meaning: close friends and people that we have gone to weddings lately), and decided to leave family out as a mutual decision (his dad has 12 brother and sisters, with their families it makes about 70ppl)

So, now we are not sure about a few things, and I have to say: his family has way too many different opinions and FH is not much help when it comes to certain practical decisions.

We are not sure:

Do we have a wedding shower???
Is it OK even though we are having such small, simple celebration and no church wedding, only a private cerimony at the court house?
And this is my second marriage (completely different circle of friends though)
If yes, how do I address this? My family does not live in the country and will not be part of all of this (we have alternative plans once we get to Brasil ;\) )

Any kind of opinion & suggestion helps.... \:\(
I feel like an orphan,

Thank you guys!!!! Bear with me please....

Loc: OK (my heart is in TEXAS!)
is not inviting his family to the "party" going to hurt anyone's feelings?

i don't know how your FH's family would feel, but i know my DH's family would view that as a slap in the face.

i don't think you guys are supposed to throw yourselves a wedding shower. that's something someone else throws for you, like a close friend or family member.

i don't see why that matters. all they know is you're getting married.

Tha was a decidion made between his mom, dad and us....they were the ones that said:" Let's keep just a fun party with friends..."

We put the options on the table and they also thought it would get a bit out of control considering his dad's side ONLY is about 70 members...
that is not really what we are worried about right now ;\)

yes, that is what I meant, sorry if I made it kinda confusing.
HIS parents, sis, bro-in-law, nephew, grandpa will be there, for sure. MY parents and family, no.

^ Thanks guys...
the only reason why I was a bit worried is because a friend will be marrying in October and having almost the same wedding 'type' as us and she is not having a shower...etc...so I wasnt sure, since our situation is a bit unique
