Hand shots of Asha radiant in the Catalina setting

I'm not keeping this ring, but thought I would take some pics of an Asha 8x6 radiant set in the Catalina setting. It's a size 6.75.
The radiant Asha is a beautiful stone and I am very happy with it. It just barely fits in the 4-prong setting, any bigger and I would have had to get a basket head -- see the side pics below.

The tee-tiny little stone chips in the band sure do sparkle in the pics, but in normal light you can barely see them.
When my for-keeps ring arrives (in the Evlin setting), I'll take pics again.

Really nice! I have eyed this setting before and I like it because it reminds me of the Tiffany Novo (well, except for the head).
The tee-tiny little stone chips in the band sure do sparkle in the pics, but in normal light you can barely see them.
Is this why you're not keeping the ring?

It is exactly like the Tiffany Novo, just with smaller stones in the band. The other difference is that the Novo comes only with diamonds, while the Catalina uses standard sidestones.
I'm not keeping this set because it was sent in error - but it is being corrected and my real set is coming soon. MrsMike is on the case! :-)

wait...couldn't ashadiamonds also make the catalina set with real diamonds if you asked?

I'm positive they can - it's listed on the website. The difference is that the Tiffany Novo is only shown on the website as available with diamonds, not available with the standard sidestones.

what is standard sidestones? do you mean the diamond-infused sidestones that are used in ashadiamond rings?

I am so happy you posted this!!! I have been waiting for someone to get this setting so that I could see it in a hand shot!! I am planning (hopefully soon!) on getting the Catalina with a 2 ct asscher! The hand shot just reaffirmed my decision. I did a little photoshopping to see what it looked like with an asscher, but never was sure on the setting as a whole. I'm so happy with the mistake! Ha! Can't wait to see your 'for keeps' ring!
