I'm in love with a ring I saw on diamonds by lauren.I really think this is the ring I could wear for all my life.Obviously,I don't have 8000$ for buying it,so I was pretty sure I was just going to keep dreaming about it.But,incredible enough,my husband told me I could have a replica made of it,as long as I keep it as cheap as possible. And when he say cheap,he mean pathetically cheap. So,this is the ring http://rockdiamond.com/index.php/jewelry...urely-beautiful and this the collage I've made of it so now I'm keeping an eye on these sapphires on ebay, for the sides http://cgi.ebay.it/MATCHED-2-07-Cts-CUSH...=item3a53df705b if I can buy the sides for less than 30$ probably my husband isn't going to kill me when I tell him that the main stone is around 100$ (with the shipment, thankfully). I'm planning on use the old mine cut from Wink as the center. but I'm not sure about the dimension.what kind of proportions do you think I should use? With these sides,a 7mm stone is big enough?I don't want a giant ring.. For the setting I've sent messages to a couple of ebay sellers, asking for a quote, but I'me pretty sure is going to be around 100,150. So,what do you girls think about the proportions? And do you know where I could find matching sapphire sides for cheap other than ebay?(or even on ebay,if you find others) Thank you!

Please let me jump in here with a couple of comments.... I don't know anything about this seller, but most of their rings stones that I checked out said they were IF stones looked too perfect to be real if they are starting at .99, which tells me these are probably lab sapphires and not natural for that price... nothing wrong with lab stones, but if you are doing lab sapphires, I would check with one of our online vendors because then at least you know what you are getting. I have purchased several sapphires (back last year when I first started buying loose gemstones) for what I thought were great stones prices, only to find out (after having them tested) that they were synthetic.
Natural sapphires that color that are matched will cost you way more than $30 if they are flawless.
As far as the size goes, I like 5mm sides with 7mm centers.

Another thing to think about, those stones on ebay say they are 5.6mm, which means they might not fit in a standard setting made for 5mm sidestones.
I am not trying to discourage you..... I think you should be able to get a very pretty ring made and stay within a budget, those sapphires that you linked to on ebay just seem to good to be true.

Ok, I was able to find the site in English by doing a search... they say all of their matched sapphires are IF and they are starting at .99, which means I doubt they are real... what would really worry me is that they might not even be lab sapphires, but just synthetic spinel or glass....AND I didn't see any smaller than 5.6mm.

Maybe someone on here knows of a reputable site that sells nice synthetic sapphires.

I DO like the setting though... best of luck in your search...sometimes that is 1/2 the fun!
