Hi there, I just bought a Miadonna stone off an online seller and it didn't come with a certificate. I am worried that I might have received a regular cz or russian cz. Is there any way to check and make sure it is a hybrid? Does it have any etchings or engravings in the stone? Sorry I'm new to this and this stone will be placed in the center of my engagement ring. I will post pictures soon.

You just got an Asha with a huge markup. Miadonna is an Asha reseller. \:\(

Thanks for the quick replies! Actually I got it for a really really good price. $75 for a 1 carat!!! i don't mind paying that for an Asha or Miadonna but I will not pay that for a regular cz. I mean, it looks real close to my other diamond ring but I am still worried cause I don't have the certificate. Do jewelers even do tests for hybrids? Is there a test I can do myself??

I could be wrong...

But I believe that you don't have a diamond hybrid. I believe that you have a diamond coated CZ.

Someone with more knowledge and vocabulary will hopefully chime in and explain this better.

Oh yikes.. I didn't read that you bought it from an online seller. Do you have the link to where you bought it?? $75 is a huge discount for a 1ct!!

I don't think there are any tests you could do.. maybe a jeweler could tell you if it is just a CZ??

What shape is the stone? \:\)

I bought it off ebay and oddly they are no longer a seller. Their status changed today. It is a round solitaire and I will take a picture of it next to a real diamond ring. I might just have to take it to a jeweler to see if its just a regular cz. It better not be..or i'll be !!

This sounds "too good to be true", and you know what they say about those deals.

Unless this is a designated loss-leader to advertise (i.e. trying to improve traffic to their site and strictly limiting qty), or is being sold by a customer that legitimately bought and is reselling at a loss, I think you just bought from someone abusing the MiaDonna trade name to make a quick buck.

Could you provide a link to the online seller? I would hazard a guess this was from Ebay, land of stolen photos and many unethical sellers?

Thanks
