What a great idea. Thanks so much for your hard work, I think this will help everyone, old and new!

What do you think about adding one more about the longevity of each type as well. That seems to come quite often too.

Just an idea, what do you all think??

Great idea! Longevity, durability, and scratch resistance all come up a lot. Especially when you are comparing Asha vs. Moissy vs. Interlap. \:\)

Thanks so much for posting all of these threads!! They are very reassuring and have made me feel so much better. I have one more question for anyone who currently owns an Asha (preferrably a V6). If you breathe on your Asha does it get damp and fog up for 2-6 seconds? Apparently this is a test for CZ, but I was wondering if the coating would help with this aspect...

I just tried it and my asha didn't fog up at all.

Hmmmmmm, weird! Both of mine did, and so did my diamonds!! Okay, the fog disappeared quickly, but fogged nevertheless!

Okay, I just ran upstairs to repeat this test on my diamond and again on my v6 asha.

You can get both results depending on how you breathe on the stones. A quick huff of air about 4 1/2" away got me no fog on either. A longer breath (count 1 mississippi, 2) nearer to the mouth got fog on both. Now both asha and diamond weren't super clean so I don't know if that made a difference.

I don't know that this is the best non-scientific test of a cz.

LOL!! I gave it a good old close-to-the-mouth breath! Further away, you were right, no fog!

You guys are simply the best!! THank you all of you for trying the fog test. Supposdly, the heat index of diamonds is high enough that moisture isn't supposed to gather on the stones (but this can be changed if there is oil or dirt on the stone). CZ is supposed to fog no matter what. My neurotic behavior stems from knowing my ring will be compared to my aunt's ring. She has a 5 ct, ideal cut, simply stunning asscher cut diamond engagement ring (it's her second marriage and she and her husband are very well established lawyers). I just wanted to make sure my ring wouldn't look fake, cheap or obviously like CZ next to hers. As I've previously said my family is amazing....but only wants the best of the best for me and does not except if that doesn't happen. Just a little pressure on my poor fiance since we decided to spend the money on my going back to school!
