has anyone here had their asha for a long while?? I know everything is nice in the begining, but after how many years will it be time to change rings, if wearing this as an E-ring?? just curious..

Hi gigi. The rings will last you a lifetime and it is the same with the stones. The rings Better than Diamond offer are of the same calibur as a high end engagement ring. The stones are not cz's, or cheap simulants so with a little bit of care you can own one for a lifetime. As with all ladies we want a little something different once in a while so if you want perhaps another ring with a different stone (Asscher, Emerald, Round) you can get it anytime you like. I hope this clears up any questions you may have.
I ment the whole ring/stone, I have not owned an asha, so I was unsure about the life of the whole ring... so many simulants look cloudy after time, and I feel uneasy buying an $900.00+ ring and have it last a short while... thanx for the info.
I know I'm replying late to this post (since it's now 2008), but I just wanted to add that I've been wearing my Tiffany repro since Christmas, 2006 and it has not held up very well. The metal seems to be getting really thin at the bottom of the ring and I have scratched my Asha. I'm upset about the scratch because I have no idea how it happened! Even when my son stepped on my hand and scrapped my ring across the pavement it DIDN'T scratch, so I must of done something terrible to it without realizing it.
I was so convinced palladium was the way to go, I'm just really upset about it now. I wish I'd gone with gold.
People are still impressed with my ring even though the metal looks like poo and there are windows in my stone. It's still a pretty ring and I'm still happy with my decision not to buy a real diamond.
I would humbly advise people against buying palladium - my experience with it has been less than stellar. Also, take care of your Ashas! It is heart-breaking when you do something stupid like scarring it with an absent-minded scratch

Nabi, I am so so sorry to hear about your ring, both the metal and the asha stone! I am shocked, actually. I have a BTD ring set in palladium, have had it almost a year and it is in impeccable shape. I just don't know how this could have happened.
I personally love palladium, I have 3 rings in palladium and they are holding up very well.
i'm surprised, too - i actually didn't really notice how bad the metal looked until i saw it next to the wedding band, which we purchased at the same time. i've been wearing the e-ring for a year and half and the wedding band has been tucked away until we have our religious ceremony. side-by-side comparison is disappointing, but i guess after wearing the wedding band for a while they may look the same?

my band is the matching palladium band - since we purchased the rings in october 2006 and i started wearing it in december, i am quite certain that it has been too long for anything to be done about my rings.
i guess i feel like the anomaly here ... even in my engagement photos, there were big dark "windows" in my ring and the metal just hasn't held up well - so i figure it must be something that i did (or that i'm doing) wrong. it doesn't seem as though anyone else has had issues like this with their palladium tiff repros.
