soo I need some help..I have only had my 2ct pear shaped asha for 8 months the first one I ordered came scratched...now the one I have has a faint scratch...I am beyond careful with this ring more than I probably should be...I sent better than diamonds an email because I am upset I dont want to have to replace my stone every 8 months its my engagement ring...I know they dont have a warranty because they are suppose to be durable...what can I possibly do?? We cant afford to replace the stone already it hasnt even been a year...I take the ring off when I clean when I come home from work there is no reason it should have a scratch...any suggestions???

I will say this again because its important.. No matter how careful you are with your jewelry, it gets hit on things.. There is no avoiding it, they are on your hands and your hands hit things..

I know it sucks when a stone gets cracked or chipped, but its not a manufacturing issue, its a damage issue..

I feel so bad for you! I recently had a scratch in a very loved ring and I felt sick about it. Where is the scratch located on the stone?

I don't think she's saying it's a manufacturing issue, but from the information we read about Ashas and their durability, it appears that they are being promoted as being harder than an regular CZ (though not as hard as a diamond) and thus more durable.
At the cost of an asha, I can understand being upset if it gets scratched in less than a year.
If it weren't for the fact that the prongs become compromised if you keep taking out and replacing stones, the price alone each year for a new asha can be daunting.
So what is the answer? Is there one? For someone looking for a durable wear every day ring like an engagement ring?

A scratch sucks, but we have to understand that trading up a diamond for CZ, you are trading in a little bit for durability. The Asha and most all well-cut CZ is beautiful and holds it's own against a diamond appearance-wise, but you are paying less for a "lesser" stone. And it will scratch. And it sucks. But there's really nothing that can be done. I'm sorry to hear that it's scratched \:\(

Is the faint scratch visible to the naked eye? Could most people view it easily from a glance or do you have to look for it? I have several ashas that I'm ultra (almost anally ) careful with but they do get banged acidentally here and there. Some of them have very slight dings you have to loupe to see but they don't diminish the overall sparkly appearance of the stone.

Just the other day, one of my kids left the kitchen cabinet door open behind be while I was talking. Then I gestured with my arm up into the air and banged my ring on the door. It almost can't be helped in everyday life. And with a cz, small scratches are bound to happen. I do hope all works out for you. \:\)

Oh no, that's awful! What does it take to actually scratch the stone? I am sort of hard on my rings, and haven't gotten any scratches yet! Then again, I've only had asha's for a little over a year now.
